Life is an Art

A few months back, I received a personal message thru my FB account. I was totally surprised because a new found friend of mine asked a favor from me.

She is a talented artist whom I met at a painting exhibit last year. I learned that that she was writing a book and would like to feature my photos on the said reading material. How can I say no? It is a privilege on my part so, I immediately said YES and thanked her for believing in my talent as a snapshooter.

Yesterday, October 3 was the book launch. I marked my calendar and made sure that I will be present on that day.  The venue she chose was Museo Pambata along Roxas Bouevard in Manila.

The book launching was a huge success. The weather was good. The venue was perfect. So many visitors were present.

The artist also had a painting exhibit after the book launch. The paintings were all featured in the book.

I came to know the artist better thru the people she has known for years. I got to know her journey as an artist. I’ve known her as a painter and as a writer.

with my dear cousin Shiela Gavar-Compendio

Eventually, I learned that she is also a ballet dancer, a musician (pianist) an educator/teacher who has touched other people’s lives. She is an inspiration to a lot of people.

Marilou de Vera,

Congratulations on your new book. May God continue to shower you with more blessings as you share them with others.
More power to you. Happy birthday. Cheers to you.
May you have a longer and healthier life.
