No-shave November. Moustache for November.
I learned about “Movember” only a year ago.
Part of my job is to create a fun environment to promote
work-life balance in our workplace.

Every month, I make sure that there is something
we can observe or celebrate.
I came across an article about “Movember Foundation”.

Wikipedia states that: Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer and other male cancers, and associated charities. The goal of Movember is to "change the face of men's health. Movember aims to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths. Besides annual check-ups, the Movember Foundation encourages men to be aware of family history of cancer and to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Growing a moustache is a visual reminder of how important it is to take responsibility for our own health.

SO, last month, I encouraged all men in our department to put down their razors to show support for the movement. We also encouraged the ladies to get involved. They played a vital role in the success of Movember by supporting and encouraging the men in their livse to get involved

For one hairy month, general information/articles were cascaded thru email to increase awareness of male cancers (testicular and prostate) and to consider what actions can be taken to stay healthy and to help each other with health issues.

We ended the event by holding a competition and awarding the best “MO BRO”.
