The Fast & the Furious Female

My favorite sistah never drives alone. She always has a companion named tomtom.  They have a very good relationship. They talk a lot. The topic of their conversation is always about safety driving.

fun,fearless female

My dear sistah tends to push the speed limit while driving. She’s just a little faster than allowed .

While I was in Maine, I got to know tomtom too. I noticed that oftentimes, tomtom reminded her  to slow down.  I often laughed at their conversation.

Tomtom always had a say when my sistah  got so fast  like we were late for an event.  My sistah  also gets  furious when other drivers got in her  way.

I remembered when my sistah asked tomtom  for alternate direction like a short cut. My sistah followed and soon  found out that there was a traffic in that area. The route was shorter but the traffic was heavy. Tomtom got a lot of screaming and cursing from my sistah.

It was so hard to drive during wintertime. There was a time when we were out and learned a snowstorm was coming. My sistah managed to drive us home safely.Even there was zero visibility.

When we went to Portland to see Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse, Medy(my sistah’s bff) and tomtom both thought  that my sistah was driving  fast, seemed furious and fearless.  Medy and tomtom asked her  to slow down. My sistah just told them to shut up.

However, as for me, I think my sistah is a good driver. She is aggressive and not fearless. On the other hand, she has the presence of mind and does not panic in emergency situation.

She has a good sense of natural physics -
speed, inertia, control.

I will always feel safe if she's behind the wheel.
No doubt about it.

By the way  TomTom is a portable GPS car navigation systems.

Jack & Renee’s Restaurant aka Arundel Diner

My big brotha-in-law "Mike" and I went here early morning on our way to New Hampshire.

This restaurant was famous for lobsters and steamers.

If you order for lobster, you must go outside to the tank where someone will help you select your preferred shell type and size.

Nevertheless, we didn’t stop here for lobstah. We stopped for old american breakfast: toasts and pancakes.

I heard the place goes busy during breakfast and lunchtime. Fortunately, it wasn’t the case when we were there, only about 4 tables were occupied and few people were eating at the time .

On the contrary, I wondered why the sign in front said "Arundel Diner" . When I ordered for my coffee, what’s written on the mug was "Jack and Renee's".

The pancakes were cook just right.

The toasts and scrambled egg tasted fine.

 The service however was great.

The staff were very accommodating and so friendly.

It was a great, laid-back restaurant with good customer service.

"Kennebunk, the only village in the world so named,"

Kennebunk is a wonderful place to visit.

It is a very small town.

It is relatively easy to get around here.

A great location for photowalking.

It is rich in tradition and history.

I liked that Kennebunk had a laid back ambiance.

It was so easy to wander from store-to-store.

FLO's : A classically great Maine Hot Dog experience

I had the pleasure of eating Flo’s hotdogs when my sistah, her hubby Mike and I were on a weekend trip going to Nubble Lighthouse

Flo's Hot Dogs is located on Route 1 at Cape Neddick, ME. It was not actually a restaurant. The place was a standing room only kind of thing with a very low ceiling. It was no more than 6 feet high. I didn't reach that height so it wasn't a problem for me. Most customers present there were tall enough and was careful while inside so their heads won't touch  the ceiling.

Anyway,  I got inside the “cabin” and waited in line. When I finally got my turn, I was asked  how many hotdogs I wanted. I ordered 2 . Next thing she asked was what toppings I wanted on it. I just said whatever most of the first timers usually order.

I just placed my order, made a payment, got the hotdogs after 5 minutes, took them out and ate them outside. I would say that the hot dog sandwich was heavenly.

The  good thing about it was the buns. The buns are steamed which means fluffy, warm and moist.  Moreover, I totally love the sauce they call “the works”.

The relish was slightly hot and sweet and mixed with either mayonnaise or mustard plus celery salt sprinkled over the top..

I wished I ordered 5 not just 2. Flo’s hotdogs are simply the best.

Flo's is one of those tourist things
you must do.

Mount Washington Cog Railway

The Mount Washington Cog Railway is the world's first mountain climbing cog railway.

It is the second steepest rack railway in the world after Pilatus railway.

It was " off season" when my brotha-in-law "MIke" and I went to Mt.Washington,

The Cog Train was not in operation. We didn't have a choice but to drive ourselves up to the top of Mt. Washington.

I was thrilled after discovering that the road was steep, narrow and winding.

We were lucky because there were only a few visitors coming up that day.

We didn't have to meet many cars on the climb up. Nevertheless, it was a bit scary driving up the road because it was on the edge with no guardrails.

Admittedly, the drive up this mountain was not for the faint of heart. But that makes the view all the more spectacular. Whew!

When we finally got to the top, I absolutely loved the place. The views at the top were breathtaking.

Indeed, a trip to Mount Washington around New England is a "must".

I suggest you write it down on your bucket list.
