My favorite sistah got married 8 years back and the venue where she tied the knot was at the Fort Williams Park, Cape Elizabeth in Portland, Maine. Her wedding picture showed the amazing Portland HeadLight at the background.
American history tells that Portland Head Light is Maine's oldest lighthouse - and one of the most picturesque and most frequently photographed in the U.S. It has been in operation since 1791.
I wasn’t able to attend her wedding. I still don’t have a US visa at that time. My sistah told me how marvelous and how spectacular the place was. The pictures proved it right.
When I finally got the chance to visit the place, it took my breath away. We visited it on a frigid wintertime. Not much was going on for it was the off season there. However, I still fell in love with the place.
We accessed the lighthouse through Fort Williams Park. I definitely took pleasure on witnessing the grand scenery of this iconic landmark.
I consider this as the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
I spent a lot of time exploring and taking pictures. I can dare say that it is a photographer's dream.
If you can only visit one lighthouse in your life time, this should be the one you should opt to see.
Timelessly beautiful lighthouse...this is what it is..!
